Company culture

Company culture
The work environments we create contribute not only to the success of other organisations, but also to that of our own. We want our employees to approach their work with positive energy and enjoyment. This means giving them opportunities to pursue challenging goals, feel valued and have a say in matters that affect their work.
As Ahrend employees, our people experience first-hand what a vitalising work environment can offer. In 2020, we therefore introduced an ongoing survey to better understand employee satisfaction and vitality within our organisation. As part of this survey, we ask employees which words they associate with vitality in their work and working environment.
We derived four main cultural values from their responses:
- Connection
- Responsibility
- Craftsmanship
- Vitality
These cultural values are reflected in our day to day work, the interaction with colleagues, managers and clients as well as in the performance cycle. Together, these cultural values form the foundation of our vitalising work environment.
Code of Business conduct
Royal Ahrend strives for a business culture in which integrity and compliance are the norm. Our Code of Business Conduct informs employees about human rights, moral behaviour, labour conditions, environmental responsibility and anti-corruption. It sets out Royal Ahrend’s principles and expectations regarding ethics, legislation and responsible business conduct. All employees are expected to comply with these ethical codes and receive regular training on these topics. Management is expected to lead by example.
The Code of Business Conduct also addresses the responsible use of artificial intelligence. As the use of AI within our business operations increases, employees are required to use only AI tools approved by Royal Ahrend and to comply with the applicable internal AI policy. AI may be used as a supporting tool where there is a valid and well-founded reason for doing so, but it should not replace human judgement, professional expertise or responsibility. Employees must always review AI-generated output for factual accuracy before using it or taking further action. We are currently developing a more comprehensive and integrated AI policy to further support the responsible, secure and transparent use of AI across the organisation.
In addition to our Code of Business Conduct, we pursue a speak-up and whistleblower policy that encourages employees to report suspected violations of ethical standards. This is supported by an integrity committee and designated confidential advisers.
